In-Person Conferences
For in-person conferences registration needs to close 5–7 days before the event to allow for:
- Printing name tags and/or personal schedules
- Printing participants lists for presenters
- Informing the presenters of their final numbers
- Sending final numbers to the caterers
- Sending emails to participants with details about attending the event
Online Conferences
For an online conference none of these reasons apply. There is no need for name tags, printed lists for presenters, or ordering catering. The presenter can access their registration numbers in real time from their easyREG online presenter page.
From a technical or process point-of-view there is no need to close registration before an online event. You can leave registration open for as long as you like or you may close registration if you prefer.
